David R. Nahin, M.D.

Chief Medical Review Officer


Dr. Nahin has been developing and ensuring the integrity of testing methodologies and industry protocol in both drug and alcohol testing and physical examination programs for over two decades. He’s been Chief Medical Review Officer (MRO) at i3screen since 1994, leading a team that includes four full-time MRO physicians.

 

In addition to overseeing the medical review team at i3screen, Dr. Nahin has a long-standing leadership role within the industry. He has dedicated his considerable knowledge to writing and updating exam questions for the Medical Review Officer Certification Council (MROCC) test. Since 2012, he has also been a member of the MRO Working Group assisting the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Research Triangle Institute in:

  1. Updating the MRO Manual for the Federal Agency Workplace Drug Urine Testing Program; and
  2. Designing MRO protocol guidelines for expanded opioid testing.

 

Dr. Nahin is certified by the American Association of Medical Review Officer (AAMRO) and the Medical Review Officer Certification Council (MROCC), as well as board certified in emergency medicine, which he practiced full-time for the first 15 years of his career.
